The Opportunity
Emrec Recruitment is recruiting experienced Senior Security Engineers for multiple opportunities across established cybersecurity service providers and large enterprise environments, with positions based in Auckland CBD and South Auckland.
We are seeking hands-on engineers with strong technical expertise across Microsoft Security, enterprise security implementations, SIEM engineering and SOC operations.
Opportunities include technical engineering, enterprise security integrations, incident response and SOC technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Implement, integrate and optimise enterprise security solutions.
Engineer and support Microsoft Defender XDR, SIEM and identity security platforms.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, endpoint and security issues.
Deliver technical improvements, automation and security integrations.
Support SOC operations, incident management and technical escalations.
Provide technical leadership and engage with enterprise stakeholders.
Technical Skills & Experience
Microsoft Defender Suite: Strong experience across Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365 and Defender for Cloud Apps, with particular emphasis on agent/sensor deployment, configuration, integration, troubleshooting and optimisation.
SIEM: Strong hands-on engineering experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other enterprise SIEM platforms.
Identity: Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, PKI and hybrid identity.
Endpoint Management: Microsoft Intune, device compliance, endpoint security and hardening.
Microsoft Purview: Experience with information protection, data loss prevention (DLP), sensitivity labels and data security capabilities.
Security Engineering: Enterprise implementations, integrations and complex troubleshooting.
Automation: PowerShell, Python, KQL and API integrations.
SOC Operations: Incident response, operational escalations or technical team leadership experience is highly regarded.
