Senior Backend Developer (Python)
Summary
Senior backend developer who designs, builds, and optimizes high-traffic web platforms and REST APIs in Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI), with strong involvement in deployment and infrastructure — Linux servers, Nginx, Docker, AWS/Alibaba Cloud, CDN/caching, and MySQL/PostgreSQL/Redis — including support for video streaming / media-related platforms.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer (Python) to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Python development experience, together with practical knowledge of Linux servers, Nginx, Docker, Cloud infrastructure, CDN and high-traffic web platforms.
Experience with online gaming, video streaming or other high-traffic internet platforms will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and web platforms using Python.
Develop and maintain REST APIs, backend services and system integrations.
Build and optimize high-performance websites and backend systems for high traffic and concurrent users.
Work with Django, Flask, FastAPI or other Python frameworks.
Manage and optimize application deployment in Linux server environments.
Configure and maintain Nginx for web applications, reverse proxy and traffic management.
Use Docker for application deployment and containerized environments.
Work with AWS, Alibaba Cloud or other cloud platforms to deploy and maintain applications.
Configure and optimize CDN, caching and content delivery for website performance and reliability.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve stability, scalability and response time.
Work with databases such as MySQL / PostgreSQL and caching technologies such as Redis.
Support the development and infrastructure requirements of video streaming / media-related platforms.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely technical solutions.
Collaborate with frontend developers, product teams and other technical teams to deliver new features and system improvements.
Participate in system architecture, technical planning and continuous optimisation of the platform.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience in Python development.
Proficient in Django, Flask, FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
Good knowledge of Linux server administration and Nginx.
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications.
Experience with AWS, Alibaba Cloud or other cloud platforms.
Good understanding of CDN, caching, load balancing and web performance optimisation.
Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis or similar technologies.
Good understanding of REST API, system integration and scalable web architecture.
Experience supporting high-traffic websites or platforms is highly preferred.
Experience in video streaming, live streaming, online gaming, fintech, e-commerce or other large-scale internet platforms is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and take ownership of technical projects.
