About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior BI Developer to join their growing analytics team in Paarl. This role is central to transforming raw data into actionable business insights through the design, development, and maintenance of robust business intelligence solutions and data warehouses. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, design efficient data models, and develop compelling dashboards and reports that drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and BI tools, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for data visualization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouses and data marts.
- Develop and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
- Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance of BI solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the analytics team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence development and data warehousing.
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
- Experience with ETL tools and methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise with at least one major BI visualization tool.
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
