Senior Business Analyst - Embedded Networks & Utilities
Be the embedded networks expert in a global utility technology business
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst with deep retail energy experience and specialist knowledge of off-market embedded networks in the Australian energy market.
Sitting at the intersection of retail operations, billing, metering and regulation, you will translate the commercial and compliance requirements of embedded network sites into clear, practical business and system changes.
You'll work across customer onboarding, parent- and child-meter reconciliation, tariff and pricing configuration, billing accuracy, and the obligations that apply to exempt sellers and off-market customers. As the link between commercial, operations, technology and compliance teams, you will produce the requirements, process maps and analysis needed to onboard and service embedded network portfolios accurately and profitably.
What you’ll do
This role requires someone who understands how embedded networks work in practice, and has experience within an energy retailer, embedded network operator, utility software provider or related industry environment.
- Gather, document and validate business requirements across embedded network onboarding, billing, metering and customer service processes.
- Map current and future state processes across the embedded network lifecycle.
- Work with parent-child metering structures, tariff configuration and billing reconciliation across embedded network portfolios.
- Analyse operational, meter and consumption data to identify reconciliation issues, revenue leakage and process improvement opportunities.
- Translate exempt-selling and retail obligations into practical system, process, communication and reporting requirements.
- Produce functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and test cases.
- Support the configuration and validation of tariffs, pricing structures and multi-utility billing arrangements.
- Partner with product, technology, operations and compliance teams to deliver business and system change.
- Support regulatory reporting, user acceptance testing, implementation and post-go-live validation.
- Act as a subject matter expert on embedded network operations and off-market customer environments.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for someone who combines strong business analysis capability with deep utility industry and embedded networks knowledge.
