We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Data Engineer who can take ownership of modern data pipelines, solve complex engineering challenges and help shape a cloud-first data environment.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Build API-driven ingestion workflows and real-time data integrations.
- Develop reliable data solutions using Python and SQL.
- Improve the performance, efficiency and automation of existing data workflows.
- Apply strong software engineering practices, including testing, documentation and version control.
- Support CI/CD for data workflows and containerised ETL deployments.
- Work with infrastructure-as-code and data-devops principles.
- Partner with senior engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders to turn requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Take ownership of projects from design through to delivery.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- 7+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-focused engineering role.
- Strong Python development and scripting skills.
- Advanced SQL experience, including relational database querying and data modelling.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes or similar container technologies.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle and clean, maintainable code.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and solve problems without constant direction.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with data security, privacy and access controls.
- Knowledge of Terraform, Helm or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Exposure to event-driven architecture or stream processing.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and prompt engineering.
