Senior Core Backend Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain highly scalable backend services using Go
- Own critical services supporting Package Protection, Returns Protection, Claims, Orders, Tracking, and Email Parsing
- Design and evolve distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs for internal products, merchants, and external partners
- Develop and improve integrations with merchant platforms, carriers, and third-party APIs
- Optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and observability
- Mentor engineers through technical leadership, design reviews, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience designing and supporting distributed systems in production
- Proficiency with Go or another modern backend language
- Experience with cloud-based services, preferably AWS
- Experience with relational, distributed, or NoSQL databases (e.g., CockroachDB, DynamoDB)
- Experience building scalable REST or GraphQL APIs
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Grafana
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

- Experience in ecommerce, logistics, shipping, or post-purchase platforms
