About the Role
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a team focused on creating predictable passenger flows and reducing waiting times through smart technology solutions. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend services, APIs, and data platforms that support operational decision making. Working alongside engineers, product owners, and data scientists, you will help build reliable and scalable solutions used across critical airport operations.
Responsibilities
- • Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services and REST APIs
- • Build and support data pipelines and system integrations
- • Deploy and operate applications using Azure and Kubernetes based platforms
- • Monitor production environments and resolve incidents and technical issues
- • Collaborate with data scientists to deploy machine learning models and data products
- • Improve software quality through CI/CD, automated testing, and engineering best practices
- • Support operational processes with reliable and scalable data solutions
- • Contribute to platform reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- • HBO Bachelor level education or equivalent experience
- • Strong experience with Python backend development
- • Proven experience developing REST APIs
- • Experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
- • Strong SQL and PostgreSQL expertise
- • Experience with Microsoft Azure services
- • Experience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL
- • Production deployment and operational support experience
- • Monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting expertise
- • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows
- • Strong communication skills in English and Dutch
- • Experience with externally consumed APIs and data platforms
- Preferred: • Databricks experience
- • Experience with Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis, or similar technologies
- • Experience working with highly available or mission critical systems
