Job Description

Senior Data Scientist - Contract Role - Fully Remote Stelfox is hiring on behalf of a client for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join their team on an initial 6-month contract fully remote. This role offers the opportunity to lead end-to-end data science projects, applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and GenAI/LLM techniques to solve complex business challenges and deliver production-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead data science projects from problem definition through deployment and handover Analyse product and operational performance to identify opportunities and recommend improvements Design, build, validate, and optimise forecasting, capacity planning, and predictive models Define and track success metrics to measure model effectiveness and business impact Collaborate with Engineering teams on deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of models Break complex initiatives into achievable milestones and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies Produce high-quality, well-documented, and repeatable analytical solutions Identify and resolve technical debt, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned with business needs Required Skills & Experience Expert-level Python and SQL skills Strong experience with data science, machine learning, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics Deep understanding of model selection, validation, and performance evaluation Experience designing and implementing solutions for complex, ambiguous business challenges Knowledge of LLMs, Generative AI workflows, prompt engineering, and model evaluation techniques Familiarity with experimentation methodologies and data-driven decision making Experience with software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to translate business questions into actionable analytical projects Proven experience managing project dependencies across multiple teams Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing mindset Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment If you are interested in this role, click 'apply' to send an updated copy of your CV to Honey Rathore or email for more details.
