We are currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a modernization project for a client from the financial sector. The role is part of the FA Modernization Team and focuses on developing a solution that streamlines and automates the delivery of vulnerability fixes for commonly used software libraries.
This is not a typical infrastructure-focused DevOps role. We are looking for an engineer with a strong scripting and automation background, who is comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines, Java ecosystem tooling and API integrations. The project combines DevOps practices with software development and automation, including building scripts and plugins, managing dependencies and improving the way security-related fixes are delivered across the environment.
We are looking for someone who can independently design and implement automation solutions, understands software delivery processes and is comfortable working with Bash or Python, Java plugins, Maven/Gradle and Jenkins.
Responsibilities
- Developing solutions that automate and streamline the delivery of vulnerability fixes for commonly used libraries
- Creating automation and scripting solutions using Bash and/or Python
- Developing and maintaining Java plugins
- Building and maintaining Jenkins pipelines
- Integrating internal and external services through APIs
- Developing automation around software delivery and modernization processes
- Working with Git and established branching strategies
- Supporting integration between development, CI/CD and repository management tools
- Analysing existing delivery processes and identifying opportunities for further automation
- Collaborating with members of the FA Modernization Team on the development and improvement of the solution
Requirements
- Strong scripting experience, preferably with Bash or Python
- Practical experience with dependency management using Maven or Gradle
- Good experience with Jenkins pipelines
- Experience integrating systems and services through APIsVery good knowledge of Git and branching strategies
- Ability to independently develop and improve automation solutions
- Good understanding of CI/CD and software delivery processes
- English at a minimum B2 level
Nice to Have
- Experience with Jira API and Bitbucket API
- Experience with Jenkins API
- Knowledge of Sonatype Nexus Repository
- Experience with OpenShift
- Experience working with RHEL
