Key responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and qualitative preparation of technical specifications and requisitions in coordination with other disciplines.
  • Perform all associated electrical calculations covering equipment sizing, cable sizing, UPS sizing, including power system study (ETAP), etc.
  • Develop electrical specifications, data sheets, schedules, load list I/O list, layout drawings, and electrical MTO to support detailed engineering.
  • Ensure proper communication with vendors and technical follow-up of the orders.
  • Ensure contractual technical specifications are met by the suppliers.
  • Contribute to optimization of material quantities by proposing value engineering solutions.
  • Ensure timely reporting on engineering/requisitioning activities to the Lead Discipline Engineer.
  • Adhere to the committed man/hours and budget.
  • Meet quality and HSE objectives of the project.
  • Interface with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly project support functions such as procurement and planning.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior employees within the team.

Requirements

  • Masters / Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering Design in Oil & Gas Projects / Industry.
  • Well versed with ETAP Software.
  • Significant experience in preparing electrical design basis, evaluation and specification of electrical equipment and automation systems, package items and electrical bulk items.
  • Significant experience in various power system analysis studies.
  • Thorough knowledge of the regulations, codes and standards and a good understanding of onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to electrical design for oil and gas industry/facilities.
  • Experience in brown fields projects and preparation of adequacy report and modification scope of work of existing equipment.
