Senior Engineer Process

Summary

Senior process engineering role designing industrial systems (deionised/ultrapure water, wastewater, chemical, or gas systems) including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, process flows, and system layouts. Coordinates with clients on scope, reviews vendor documentation, leads tendering activities, mentors junior engineers, and ensures project schedules and design compliance across execution phase

Job Responsibilities

  • Define System Design Deliverables and liaise with client on scope requirements
  • Develop and / or review design documentation as per Deliverable List e.g. Process Flow
  • Diagrams Piping and Instrumentation Drawings, System Layouts, Equipment and Instrumentation data sheets
  • Review and participate in tendering activities (tender preparation, tender interview/clarification meetings, evaluate proposals submissions and Tender Recommendation Report preparation)
  • Perform engineering reviews on vendor documentation to ensure compliance and completeness in technical scope
  • Brief Process Engineers/Supervisors on the project scope and ensure system complete on schedule
  • Participate in Risk and Process Hazard Analysis
  • Prepare budget and cost estimations
  • Interface:
  • Design Phase: Client, Design Manager, Lead Process Engineer, Other Discipline Package Owner/s
  • Project Execution Phase: Client, Project Manager, Safety, Quality Assurance/Quality Compliance, Commissioning Manager, Process Engineer/Supervisor, Other Discipline Package Owner/s
  • Ensure design checklist is established and maintained for all projects
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Process Engineers in their work
  • Support implementation of Engineering Efficiency activities
  • Plan, organise and approve Inspecting and Test Plant, Inspection Qualification and Testing and Commissioning
  • Promote safe work practices
  • Promote commercial awareness
  • Ad hoc duties as determined by management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • Diploma holders with additional 2 - 3 years’ experience unless equated with professional certifications
  • Minimum years of experience: 6 - 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in design and/or construction in either Deionised/Ultrapure Water or Wastewater or Chemical or Gas Systems Understanding of Codes and Engineering Standards of International Clients
  • Conversant in the use of design software
