Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Java/Azure

Adecco is recruiting a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for a financial services organisation modernising a business-critical investment accounting platform.

The position focuses primarily on Java backend and platform engineering. You will build scalable services supporting high-volume accounting workflows, real-time and batch data processing, and integration with enterprise data platforms. You will also contribute to architecture decisions, mentor engineers and take ownership of services in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and operate scalable Java and API-driven services.


• Develop multi-tenant capabilities for real-time and batch data ingestion.


• Modernise legacy functions into cloud-ready, API-first services.


• Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and enterprise data platforms.


• Improve reliability, observability, auditability and operational controls.


• Lead design discussions and support architecture decisions.


• Conduct code reviews and mentor other engineers.


• Take ownership from implementation through deployment and production support.


• Collaborate with product, operations, architecture and distributed engineering teams.

Required experience

• 7+ years building large-scale distributed software systems.


• Strong hands-on Java and backend API development.


• Experience with production-grade service design, testing, deployment and support.


• SQL and/or NoSQL database experience.


• Cloud or hybrid-platform experience.


• CI/CD, DevOps practices and automated testing.


• Strong technical communication and mentoring skills.


• Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred experience

• Microsoft Azure and on-premises platforms.


• Financial services, investment accounting or transaction-processing systems.


• Oracle, Snowflake, Python, TypeScript, Angular, Kafka or Spark.


• Legacy platform modernisation.

The selection process takes place via Microsoft Teams and includes a 45-minute coding exercise and a 45-minute interview.
