Summary
Senior Java Developer designing, building, and operating enterprise-grade Java microservices using Spring Boot, Kafka, and MongoDB, deployed on OpenShift/AWS. Day to day involves REST API development, event-driven integrations, MongoDB and SQL data modeling and tuning, CI/CD support, and production troubleshooting.
We're hiring a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and operate enterprise-grade microservices with strong expertise in Spring Boot, Kafka, and MongoDB on Open Shift/AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices adhering to enterprise architecture and coding standards.
- Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven components using Kafka for reliable, scalable integrations.
- Model MongoDB schemas, define indexes, write efficient queries/aggregations, and tune performance.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries (E2 level) for reporting and transactional needs alongside NoSQL workloads.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance through proper exception handling, logging, monitoring, and resiliency patterns.
- Collaborate with BAs, architects, QA, and DevOps; participate in code reviews, unit testing, and defect resolution.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and production issue troubleshooting while following secure coding and compliance standards
Required Skills:
- Core Java: 8/11/17 with strong hands-on experience in collections, concurrency, JVM internals, and performance tuning.
- Spring Stack: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data; solid understanding of dependency injection, AOP, and transaction management.
- APIs & Integration: REST APIs, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger; integration with upstream/downstream systems.
- Messaging: Kafka producers/consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, offset management, and basic scaling.
- Database: MongoDB - document modeling, indexing strategies, aggregation framework, CRUD optimization, and performance tuning.
- Cloud & Platform: OpenShift and/or AWS (deployment, scaling, basic networking, secrets/config).
- Data Layer (E2): Ability to design and optimize SQL queries for transactional and reporting use cases where required.
Experience with:
- Experience: 9-12 years in backend Java development with microservices at scale.
- Proven track record delivering production microservices on OpenShift/AWS with Kafka and MongoDB.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills in agile environments.
