Senior Manager - Health and Safety
The Senior Manager, HSE is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Health, Safety, and Environmental strategies, systems, and compliance programs across projects and operations. The role ensures that all activities are performed safely, sustainably, and in accordance with applicable regulations, company policies, and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a strong safety culture across projects and operational teams through leadership, coaching, and awareness programs.
- Monitor compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company HSE requirements.
- Oversee HSE performance across contractors, consultants, and project teams.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to identify risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and lessons learned initiatives.
- Develop and monitor HSE KPIs, dashboards, and management reports.
- Ensure environmental management plans are implemented, including waste management, pollution prevention, sustainability, and resource conservation initiatives.
- Review project designs, construction methodologies, and operational activities to identify and mitigate HSE risks.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and crisis management procedures.
- Support procurement and contract management teams on HSE requirements and contractor prequalification processes.
- Provide regular HSE updates and recommendations to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of HSE experience, including significant experience in large-scale infrastructure, construction, industrial, or mixed-use development projects.
- Proven experience managing HSE programs across complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, CRSP, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and best practices.
