About the area

The Modeling area at Serasa Experian is responsible for developing analytical models that support credit decisions and risk management for the largest players in the financial market and various other segments. We work with large volumes of data, advanced Machine Learning and Statistics techniques, always seeking to generate real impact for our clients.

What you will do

  • Develop statistical and Machine Learning models for credit, risk, and other analytical solutions.
  • Conduct all stages of the model development cycle, from data exploration and preparation to validation, documentation, and deployment.
  • Work with large structured and unstructured databases, identifying opportunities for value generation.
  • Evaluate model performance through statistical and business metrics, proposing continuous improvements.
  • Interact with multidisciplinary teams (Product, Engineering, Analytics, Commercial, and Clients) to understand business problems and transform needs into analytical solutions.
  • Monitor the performance of models in production and propose strategies for monitoring, recalibration, and evolution.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of best practices in modeling, programming, and analytical governance.
  • Act as a technical reference for more junior analysts, supporting their development.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with PySpark, Databricks, or distributed environments.
  • Knowledge of MLOps and deploying models into production.
  • Experience with models based on alternative data.
  • Postgraduate degree or Master's in quantitative fields.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to credit risk management.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Higher education in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, or related fields.
  • Solid experience in developing statistical and/or Machine Learning models.
  • Knowledge of credit modeling (Application, Behaviour, Collection, or regulatory models) will be considered an important differentiator.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or SAS.
  • Experience with SQL and manipulating large databases.
  • Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning techniques.
  • Knowledge of applied statistics, model validation, and metrics such as KS, Gini, AUC, PSI, among others.
  • Experience using Git or version control tools.
  • Good communication skills to present technical results to different audiences.
