Senior Network Engineer

Leads a team of network engineers, designs and maintains Campus LAN networks using Cisco Catalyst and CheckMK, and provides 24/7 on-call support for incident resolution.

The role is centered around providing technical leadership and operational management of Network Engineers focused on the Campus LAN product area, ensuring seamless network operations and effective incident management.

Contract: B2B, long-term
Working model: 100% remote
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and coordinate tasks among Network Engineers in the Campus LAN area.
Oversee operational responsibilities in RUN including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Cisco Catalyst (IOS/IOS-XE).
Act as the technical lead for major incidents, including providing on-call support 24/7.
Manage Change, Release, Incident, and Problem Management processes.
Handle Event and Availability Management using CheckMK, as well as oversight of Capacity, Vulnerability, and CMDB Management.
Support compliance audits and Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR).
Engage in additional activities such as network planning, design, and architecture.
Install and configure network components.
Optimize network performance.
Ensure quality assurance of configurations and conduct troubleshooting in accordance with FI-TS processes.
Implement planned configurations based on the FI-TS change process.
Document processes following FI-TS documentation guidelines.
Key Requirements:
Cisco CCNA or CCNP Enterprise (or equivalent)
Fluent English; proficiency in German is a plus.
Experience in technical leadership and team mentoring.
Nice to Have:
ITIL knowledge
Lancom certification (LCSP)
Knowledge of network automation tools such as Ansible and Python
Familiarity with CheckMK
