Senior QA Analyst
Description
You will own quality for the Paragon platform as the Senior QA voice on the delivery team. The focus is API and service-level testing, with additional work across UI, integration, end-to-end, ETL/data validation, and performance testing. You will build automation frameworks from scratch, set quality gates in CI/CD, and work directly with engineering and business stakeholders, including U. S. -based teams.
Responsibilities:
- Build frameworks from scratch: Choose tools, define architecture and coding standards, and set up reporting, logging, configuration, test data management, and parallel execution.
- Own API testing and automation: Cover REST APIs for functional, integration, regression, negative, authorization, boundary, contract, and end-to-end scenarios. Validate status codes, headers, auth, payloads, JSON/XML schemas, pagination, idempotency, and business rules.
- Automate UI regression: Build stable, low-flake suites using reusable page/component objects.
- Integrate with CI/CD: Run automation in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins with visible results and quality gates.
- Test performance: Design and run load, stress, soak, and spike tests, set baselines, and report actionable findings.
- Test ETL and data pipelines: Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading end-to-end.
- Use SQL and automated checks to verify data integrity, source-to-target reconciliation, deduplication, entity matching, and confidence scoring.
- Drive quality strategy: Prioritize automation by risk and business impact, log defects with clear evidence and root cause, and give release-readiness recommendations.
- Lead technically: Take part in refinement, estimation, design discussions, defect triage, and code reviews, and mentor other QA engineers.
Requirements:
- 7+ years in software quality engineering, with 4+ years in hands-on automation and framework development.
- Strong API automation experience with Postman/Newman, REST Assured, Python Requests, RestSharp, Playwright API, or similar.
- Proven record of building an automation framework from scratch (architecture, reusable components, config, test data, reporting, parallel execution, CI/CD).
- Strong programming in at least one of Python, C#, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript, with production-quality code and confident code reviews.
- Hands-on UI automation with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, including reducing flakiness.
- Hands-on ETL testing experience, including source-to-target validation and data quality checks.
- Solid SQL (joins, aggregates, subqueries, reconciliation queries).
- CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Strong Git skills (branching, pull requests, merge/rebase).
- Hands-on performance testing with K6, JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or Azure Load Testing.
- Strong test design, debugging, and troubleshooting across APIs, UI, databases, and pipelines.
- Agile experience as a senior QA/automation engineer.
- Excellent written and spoken English for working with U. S. -based stakeholders.
Good to have:
- Domain experience in insurance claims.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and handling protected health information (PHI) in test environments.
- Ability to take an application with little or no automation and independently set up its test architecture, coverage, and pipeline.
