Senior Software Engineer Field Survey Apps (Java/C++) Hybrid

Topcon Positioning Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop field survey applications used with GNSS receivers and surveying equipment across Android, Windows, Linux and iOS.

The role is hybrid: three days in office per week, with offices in Concordia sulla Secchia (Modena) or Ancona. You will work with Java and C++, contribute to new features, debugging, testing, and documentation, and collaborate with international teams.

Develop and maintain field survey applications using Java, C++, and related tech. Implement modules connecting with Topcon and third-party field equipment. Collaborate with managers and teams to plan delivery schedules and quality. Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical and application issues. Support mature software and contribute to new features, testing and docs. Provide technical guidance and improve software processes. 3+ years of professional software development with Java and/or C++. Hands-on Android development experience. Strong object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures and multithreading. Experience with debugging, testing, documentation and version control. Knowledge of bug tracking (JIRA), CI/CD, and automated testing. Knowledge of C++20, Boost, ASIO, gRPC, Protobuf, MQTT, NMEA. Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate in English.
