Job Description
Nine has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Workday Specialist to join our dynamic People Transformation team!
In this high-impact role, you will partner closely with the Head of People Systems to turn complex business requirements into functional Workday realities. As a hands-on technical expert and primary subject matter expert for core modules, you will act as a vital connector between foundational execution and strategic leadership. Day to day, you will drive the maintenance, optimisation, and system integrity of our newly implemented Workday ecosystem while mentoring junior team members.
Day to day you will:
Manage the end-to-end configuration, testing, and implementation of changes within one to two core Workday modules.
Support the bi-annual Workday release cycle through feature assessment, regression testing, and deployment.
Design and maintain business processes, condition rules, and security groups to align with evolving enterprise needs.
Serve as the Tier 2/3 escalation point to resolve complex system errors, business process snags, and data discrepancies.
Conduct root-cause analysis for system defects to implement long-term, sustainable fixes rather than temporary patches.
Oversee system updates executed by the external AMS provider to ensure strict adherence to governance standards.
Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
3-5 years of hands-on Workday configuration or implementation experience across core modules.
Proven deep expertise in at least one to two modules, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, or Recruitment.
Prior experience navigating the end-to-end testing lifecycle for major Workday updates and utilising EIBs for data conversion.
Strong technical understanding of Workday's security framework, business process framework, and calculated fields.
Exceptional analytical skills to logically map out step-by-step Workday solutions for broken processes or complex requests.
High level of autonomy with the capability to manage your own workload and make confident configuration decisions.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills to clearly explain complex technical limitations or capabilities to non-technical users.
