Software Developer (Java/Apache/Kafka)-Contract

Summary

Develop enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices, with Apache Kafka and Oracle/SQL Server databases.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyse business and technical requirements and develop software solutions based on functional specifications.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code in accordance with software engineering best practices.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support business applications.
  • Perform unit testing and support integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and production support.
  • Troubleshoot application defects, performance issues, and production incidents, and implement timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application quality and performance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment procedures, and operational guides.
  • Ensure applications comply with organizational security policies, coding standards, and development best practices.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications based on business and technical requirements.
  • Strong expertise in Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices architecture.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Experience with application servers such as WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, or Apache Tomcat.
  • Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Java.
  • Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring REST, and JPA.
  • Knowledge of Microservices architecture and Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and SQL databases.
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS for web application development.
  • Experience with Git for version control and Maven for build automation.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
