SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST

Summary

Supervises a team ensuring the security and resilience of USCIS facilities, access control, and emergency management while advising leadership on risk mitigation and policy compliance.

As a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST, you will serve as the Deputy Chief, Mission Assurance and an advisor to the Mission Assurance Division Chief, on security and readiness posture of USCIS offices, critical infrastructure, access to secure facilitate and mitigation of crises.

Oversees the maintenance and validation of requirements, risk identification, and the protection, continued function, and resilience of the division's safety, security, access and emergency management assets and capabilities

Manages, coordinates, and advise subordinates and senior leadership on divisional strategic planning, goals, objectives, milestones, performance measures, trends, gaps and corrective measures across assigned programs and functions

Advise and assist the Division Chief and Continuity Coordinator and emergency response staff during all-hazard emergencies and crisis management through coordination and management of the continuity, emergency management, occupational safety programs

Determines the applicability and effect of new or proposed legislation, executive orders and DHS directives and other department decisions on USCIS's safety, security access and emergency management requirements

Assist in development promulgation, implementation, and maintenance of safety, security, access and emergency management policy and procedures consistent with law, regulation and directives

Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas. Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
