System Analyst (Payments and Remittances) (Ref 26534)
Summary
Analyzes and designs regional payment systems, focusing on cross-border and domestic transactions, messaging standards, and compliance for a banking project.
Responsibilities
• Perform technical analysis on a Regional Payment Solutions Project, understanding the system architecture, functional and non-functional requirements, and end-to-end system flows.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams on solution design, functional design, and technical design throughout project initiation, implementation, and post-implementation support.
• Propose alternative solutions to enhance system performance and meet business requirements while aligning with industry best practices.
• Develop and review technical specifications and supporting design documentation to ensure solutions meet functional requirements.
• Manage vendors and facilitate quality reviews, provide recommendations, and ensure deliverables meet project standards.
• Review test strategies and test plans, including Unit Testing, System Testing, SIT, and UAT.
• Support testing during SIT, UAT, and post-implementation.
• Analyze existing SDLC processes and recommend continuous improvements through
• regular reporting to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
• Bachelor/Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field
• At least 6 – 7 years of experience in system and/or technical analysis in the banking industry.
• Hands-on experience in functional specification, and technical design specification preparation.
• Experience in Full-Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) cycle, with medium to large- scale live system implementation.
• Strong verbal and writing skills; ability to thoroughly understand product specifications, and ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
• Strong vendor management.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in project planning and managing small-scale teams will be preferred.
Required Skills & Experience
• Knowledge of Cross-Border Payments and Reporting Plus (CBPR+) standards and payment messaging.
• Familiarity with MEPS+ (MAS Electronic Payment System) and domestic payment processing.
• Understanding of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX message formats, including message mapping, migration, and payment flows.
• Experience in payment systems, financial messaging, or banking transformation projects related to cross-border and domestic payments.
• Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements associated with payment messaging standards and financial institutions.
Preferred Skills & Experience
• Experience and knowledge in Java, Spring Framework, SpringBoot, Java libraries, and Oracle DB.
