- As the Tech Lead in a Data Engineering team, you take responsibility for the technical direction of our data platforms (esp. Databricks), ensuring scalability, reliability, and high data quality while making key technical decisions.
- Together with your team, you implement critical components and frameworks, define coding standards, and ensure best practices through hands-on engineering and code reviews.
- Your responsibilities will include mentoring and coaching engineers, resolving technical challenges, and structuring complex topics into actionable tasks that enable efficient delivery.
- Acting as a trusted technical counterpart, you collaborate with stakeholders to assess idea feasibility, estimate effort, and provide input for project planning.
- By driving efficient delivery processes, you support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and deployment practices while ensuring alignment with product goals and stable environments.
- You actively foster innovation by evaluating new technologies, promoting automation and DevOps practices, and identifying as well as reducing technical debt
What makes us successful together
- Qualification: You have a degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a comparable field.
- Experience: You bring several years of experience in data engineering and have already taken ownership of technical leadership or senior engineering responsibilities.
- Know-how and skills: You possess strong expertise in data architecture, data modelling, and ETL or ELT processes, combined with solid knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, orchestration tools, and system design principles.
- Nice to have: Experience with cloud-based data platforms, modern data stack technologies, and CI/CD or DevOps practices would further strengthen your profile.
- Personality: You are a proactive and empathetic professional who clearly communicates complex technical topics, inspires others, and enjoys working collaboratively in an agile environment toward long-running strategic goals.
- Language skills: You communicate confidently in English.
