Technical Delivery Manager

Sharp & Carter is proud to be partnering with a large Queensland organisation to appoint an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead a complex data and analytics technology initiative.

This is not a traditional project management role. We’re looking for someone who understands the technology being delivered, can engage confidently with technical specialists and has a proven track record of delivering complex data and analytics solutions.

The Opportunity
Reporting into senior technology leadership, you will take ownership of delivery across a multidisciplinary technical environment, providing direction, structure and accountability while working closely with architects, engineers, analysts, vendors and operational stakeholders.
You will be responsible for:

• Leading the delivery of complex enterprise data and analytics technology initiatives, from planning through implementation and operational handover.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across data engineering, solution architecture, analytics, integration, vendors and operational support.
• Establishing delivery plans, governance, milestones, dependencies, risk management and reporting to maintain delivery momentum and accountability.
• Working closely with technical specialists to understand, challenge and influence decisions relating to data platforms, cloud services, integration, reporting and analytics.
• Applying Agile, hybrid and traditional delivery methodologies to suit the delivery environment and stakeholder requirements.
• Managing delivery risks, technical dependencies, quality, testing and operational readiness to support successful implementation.
• Building a collaborative team culture that encourages accountability, constructive challenge and continuous improvement.
• Maintaining alignment between technical delivery, business priorities and expected outcomes.

About You
You are a technically credible delivery leader who can operate comfortably between project delivery, architecture and hands-on technology teams. You understand the complexities of enterprise data environments and know how to translate technical requirements into structured, achievable delivery outcomes.
You will bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of enterprise data and analytics platforms, such as data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses or business intelligence solutions.
• Strong understanding of Azure data services and modern data platform technologies, including data integration, reporting and analytics.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams, coordinating vendors and managing complex delivery dependencies.
• A strong background in delivery governance, planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement and implementation.
• The ability to engage with architects and technical specialists, understand their recommendations and challenge technical decisions where required.
• Experience working across Agile, hybrid and traditional delivery environments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build trust across technical teams, business stakeholders and senior leadership.

Experience delivering AI-enabled data or analytics capabilities would be advantageous.
