Technical Program Manager – Chip Development

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive SSE chip development from planning and specification definition through tape-out, silicon validation and mass-production readiness.

You will partner with R&D leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver programmes aligned with customer requirements and product roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop short, medium and long-term chip development plans with R&D leaders, balancing customer requirements and available resources.
  • Manage the full development lifecycle, including specification finalisation, design, simulation, technical reviews, tape-out, fabrication and silicon validation.
  • Establish and improve development review checkpoints, documentation requirements and templates.
  • Identify technical and delivery risks, coordinate mitigation plans and drive timely resolution across teams.
  • Coordinate MPW prototype validation and solution selection, oversee NTO tape-outs, and monitor performance and quality to support transfer to mass production.
  • Drive resolution of chip-related issues raised by customers and internal product teams.
  • Communicate validation results and development outcomes to R&D and product management teams, supporting chip-platform improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in chip development and at least 3 years in chip-development project management.
  • Strong understanding of the chip development lifecycle, from specifications and design reviews through tape-out, validation and production readiness.
  • Strong analytical, planning and risk-management skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate technical teams and drive delivery against project milestones.
