Traveling Food Service Worker Substitutes

We are seeking dependable and flexible Traveling Substitute Food Service Workers to support our school food service program at various locations. This is an on-call position with work available as needed. Candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel.

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday through Friday
• Approximately 3–6 hours per day when scheduled
• No weekends or holidays
• Summers off
• On-call, as-needed basis

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation and meal assembly.
• Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and perform cashier duties.
• Stock, organize, and rotate food and supplies.
• Wash dishes and maintain clean kitchen, serving, and dining areas.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with other cafeteria duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation and ability to travel.
• Flexible availability and willingness to work at different school locations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Previous food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to obtain required documentation and clearances to work in a school setting.
