At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.

We’re looking for inquisitive, collaborative university grads to join our engineering teams. Working closely with mentors and product, design, data, and back‑end engineers, you’ll learn how large‑scale systems operate and play a meaningful role in building new technologies, features, and tools. Expect real projects, supportive teammates, and plenty of opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable
- Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end to help build the future of Pinterest
- Take ownership of the completion, quality, and maintainability of your tasks and projects
- Leverage AI tools in your daily engineering workflow to accelerate delivery—brainstorming approaches, writing and refining code, and producing clear documentation
- Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners to build products, systems, and tools that support Pinterest
- Proactively communicate ideas and perspectives with candor, and continue growing professionally through feedback, learning, and development opportunities
- Contribute to engineering work across backend, full stack, mobile, web, and security domains, depending on team
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, expected by June 2027
- Must be available to start full-time between January 2027 and September 2027
- At least one year of programming experience through internships, research, coursework, teaching, personal projects, open source, or hackathons
- Familiarity using AI as a learning, productivity, and engineering tool, and as an iterative coding partner, to accelerate engineering work while exercising strong judgment around accuracy, security, and when to ask for help
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks, tools, or technologies such as React or similar. Technical requirements vary by team.
- Previous software engineering internship experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and product sense
- Passion for Pinterest, comfort with ambiguity, and a growth mindset with a willingness to continuously learn
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- For this role, some employees will work in a hybrid model (commutable distance to one of our offices, with in-person collaboration approximately 1–2 times per week), and some will work fully remote within approved locations. Specific location and work style (hybrid or remote) will be confirmed during the interview and offer process.
