Job Overview:

This position under close general supervision by the Utility Operations Superintendent and Assistant Utility Operations Superintendent, helps maintain, operates monitors and maintains the water and wastewater systems at Forest Highlands Golf Club to ensure compliance with state and federal agencies; and preforms related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions including, but not limited to the following areas:

Water Distribution – Tasks specific to the water system may include the operation of various system components to meet the demands for potable and irrigation water, reading water meters and the maintenance and repair of the distribution system components and piping. Daily logs and records on water system operations and equipment will be completed daily or as directed with accuracy.

Wastewater - Tasks specific to the wastewater systems may include operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations, sewer flushing, the repair of both sewage grinder pumps and collection system piping. Daily logs and records on plant and lift station operations and equipment will be completed daily or as directed with accuracy.

On Call - The position requires rotating weekend shift work and emergency on-call duty involving all areas of departmental responsibility. Must respond in a timely manner and be available on weekends, holidays, and after regular work hours when it’s your on-call shift. This creates the opportunity for overtime.

Environment: Duties may be required in inclement weather, lifting heavy objects, wet conditions while repairing water and sewer leaks, and the possible exposure to toxins associated with water and wastewater.
