Summary

A Business Analyst joins the Project Management Office of a not-for-profit community services organisation in Sydney, gathering and documenting business requirements, mapping processes, and supporting projects like CRM implementations through to UAT and business change. It's a process-focused (not technical) BA role using tools like Visio, Jira, SharePoint and Azure DevOps.

Salary: $130,000 + superannuation + NFP salary packaging

There's something rewarding about using your professional skills to make a difference beyond the workplace. Waking up in the morning knowing you're contributing to something much more fulfilling and aligned to your individual purpose.

Our client is an established not-for-profit community services organisation supporting people experiencing hardship, vulnerability and disadvantage.

They're looking for a Business Analyst to join their Project Management Office, improving the systems and processes that enable frontline teams to deliver essential community services.

The Opportunity

With more than 60 initiatives on the organisation's project register, you'll work across a variety of business systems, technology improvements and operational projects.

One project might involve introducing a new CRM or business system. Another could see you working directly with frontline employees to understand how services operate and identify opportunities to make their work easier and more effective.

While many initiatives have a technology component, this is primarily a business and process-focused BA role rather than a Technical BA position.

Reporting to the Head of PMO, you'll engage with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business challenges, clarify requirements and help shape practical solutions.

A key priority is improving the quality of Business Analysis before projects move into delivery. You'll help establish clearer processes and requirements while contributing to more consistent BA practices across the PMO.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating workshops and stakeholder discussions to gather, analyse and validate business requirements.
  • Mapping current-state and future-state processes, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Producing requirements documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting BA artefacts.
  • Working with business teams, IT and vendors to assess solutions and support project delivery.
  • Supporting UAT, implementation readiness and business change activities.

About You

We're looking for a Business Analyst with solid practical experience, strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity about how organisations operate.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong process mapping, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to UAT and business or technology change initiatives.
  • Confidence engaging stakeholders, asking questions and challenging unclear requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across different business functions.

Experience across agile and waterfall environments, along with tools such as Visio, Jira, SharePoint or Azure DevOps, would be useful.

You don't need to be a Senior BA or have delivered large transformation programs. What matters is your ability to understand business problems, work effectively with stakeholders and produce quality BA outcomes.

Experience in not-for-profit, community services, healthcare, aged care, disability or government would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

Working Arrangements and Benefits

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a base salary of $130,000 plus superannuation and access to eligible not-for-profit salary packaging benefits.

You'll initially work four days per week in the office to build relationships and understand the organisation, before transitioning to a hybrid arrangement of three days in the office and two from home.

Some travel to service locations, primarily within NSW, may be required depending on the project.
