Job summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving regional sales growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and managing the end-to-end sales cycle. The role focuses heavily on public sector engagement, tender management, and solution-based selling, particularly within government and large-scale institutional environments.
Requirements
Business development & sales
- Achieve assigned regional sales targets and contribute to overall revenue growth.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Conduct market research on target countries, including tenders, competitors, pricing, and technology trends.
- Prepare and present regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
Partnership & client management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard local business partners to strengthen market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government entities and key stakeholders.
- Manage ongoing client relationships to ensure satisfaction and identify upselling opportunities.
Tendering & bid management
- Monitor and evaluate government tenders and RFPs.
- Define bidding strategies (direct, partner-led, or consortium-based).
- Lead the bid management process and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of proposals with high success rates.
Cross-functional coordination
- Collaborate with pre-sales, product development, legal, and operations teams.
- Ensure smooth handover of awarded projects with complete documentation.
- Provide market insights and customer feedback to product teams.
Market representation
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows.
- Support regional marketing initiatives and promote product awareness.
Systems & compliance
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Postgraduate qualification in Sales or Business Development is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in public sector or government sales.
- Proven track record in selling AI-based, data-driven, or advanced technology solutions.
- Strong experience in tendering, bidding, and large-scale project acquisition.
