Content Producer

Company Description
Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company. Working at Nine, you’ll have access to a unique range of experiences and opportunities, helping drive the success of the country’s most trusted television, radio, digital and publishing brands.

Our content reaches almost every Australian - meaning what we do has real impact. We bring people together, celebrate the big moments, and capture the everyday ones.

Some of our most beloved brands have been part of Australian life for generations, and others - new on the scene - have already found their place firmly in our lives. We’re evolving and we need people like you to bring new ideas, innovate and make your mark.

Job Description

As part of Nine Publishing, you will join the home of Australia’s premier news mastheads, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review, Brisbane Times, and WAtoday.

Are you a skilled storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced media environment? Reporting to the Senior Community Engagement Editor, you will own the end-to-end production of emails, exclusive content, and tailored reader engagement campaigns that connect subscribers with our world-class journalism. Operating as a hands-on practitioner you will blend editorial oversight with digital production to drive brand alignment and audience connection.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity.

Day to day you will:

  • Write, produce, and execute high-impact editorial email campaigns and articles under tight deadlines.

  • Ensure all messaging aligns with newsroom priorities, masthead tones, and brand guidelines.

  • Build visually engaging layouts within CRM and CMS platforms using drag-and-drop builders.

  • Coordinate with the CRM team to target engaged audiences and optimise campaign distribution.

  • Source, crop, and optimise images, or brief the in-house design team for creative assets.

  • Test subject lines, pre-headers, and layouts to continuously improve open and click-through rates.

  • Support the wider team with newsletter production and general content optimisation.

What you'll bring:

  • Prior experience in digital production, sub-editing, copywriting, or digital marketing within publishing or media.

  • Hands-on literacy with modern email, CRM, or CMS platforms.

  • Exceptional writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills tailored to diverse audience demographics.

  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple overlapping requests during high-pressure news cycles.

  • Functional design familiarity, including image editing and basic HTML/CSS variables for email templates.

  • Highly collaborative mindset, ability to comfortably communicate with both newsrooms and technical data teams.
