Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN)

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as an Information Technology Security Specialist with responsibility for security planning, coordinating, and supervising the security during installation, testing, modifying, upgrading, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network and server hardware and softwaresystems on the installation's Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems (JWICS)network.

Performs services as an Information Systems Security Manager, with expert knowledge and skills in applying Information Technology (IT) Security Principles, methods, and tools, as well as an in-depth comprehension of the overall IT security environment. Provides technical guidance and instructions to users and other IT specialists for the JWICS network. Prepares, coordinates, and implements policies and procedures for JWICS hardware and software applications system operation. Serves as a technical advisor to management for JWICS. Participates as a key member and advisor on special committees and projects designed to study methods to enhance the use of information technology. Maintains liaison with manufacturers, professional organizations, and counterparts at other installations and services regarding available products and state-of-the-art technologies and advancements.
