IT Infrastructure Engineer (Data Centre, Over $40K)
Summary
Supports a company's data centre and IT infrastructure in Hong Kong: daily data centre ops (cabling, hardware installs, inspections), network and security support (firewalls, switching, load balancers, patching), plus monitoring, backups and disaster recovery drills. Requires 3+ years in IT with 1.5+ in infrastructure.
Salary: $40,000 – $43,000 per month
Job description:
Deliver infrastructure support across installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Maintain data centre facilities and carry out daily operations, including cabling, hardware installation, and routine inspections.
Provide technical support for departmental services, covering firewalls, network access control, routing and switching, load balancers, and proxy servers.
Work alongside ICT team members and outsourced contractors to implement and deliver IT infrastructure projects.
Carry out IT security tasks—security patching, firmware updates, certificate renewals, and reviews of user accounts, system configurations, and security logs—to ensure compliance with current security policies and guidelines.
Conduct regular system monitoring, health checks, system and data backups, disaster recovery drills, and other housekeeping duties.
Liaise with outsourced contractors and telecommunication carriers on network circuit provisioning, structured cabling, hardware replacement, and emergency restoration.
Evaluate and assess IT products during procurement, and support the testing and implementation of new IT products and devices.
Keep an up-to-date inventory of IT assets, software licences, and technical documentation.
Requirements:
Higher Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or its equivalent
At least 3 years’ experience in IT industry
At least 1.5 years’ experience in Infrastructure
At least 1 years’ experience in Network & System Management and System Implementation and Maintenance/Support
At least 0.5 years’ experience in Metro Ethernet, Networking and Server Virtualisation Technology
