The Role
As a Java Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications for a project in the finance sector. Working closely with IT managers and project teams, you will turn business requirements into reliable, high-quality software that meets project objectives, all within a flexible hybrid work setup.
What You'll Do
• Collaborate with IT managers and stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Design, code, and enhance Java applications following coding standards and best practices
• Prepare and execute unit and integration tests, fix defects, and take part in code reviews
• Troubleshoot application issues and deliver timely fixes alongside QA and operations teams
• Assist with estimation, project schedules, and prioritisation
• Maintain technical documentation and share knowledge with your team
• Identify and implement improvements in performance, scalability, and code quality
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's is a plus)
• Strong hands-on skills in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Java EE
• Experience with Microservices Architecture, RESTful APIs, Web Services, and JSON
• Working knowledge of MongoDB, Oracle DB, and Microsoft SQL Server
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum is an advantage
• Relevant certifications (e.g. OCP, Spring Professional, AWS or Azure Developer, CSD) are a bonus
