Java Developer (JBoss)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Java/J2EE development and JBoss/WildFly application servers to design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable, secure, and high-performing Java applications, developing RESTful APIs, integrating enterprise systems, and troubleshooting application issues in production environments.

Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and business-to-business (B2B) integrations will be an added advantage. The candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and J2EE technologies.
• Deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot applications running on JBoss/WildFly application servers.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate seamless integration between internal and external systems.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and efficient code in accordance with established coding standards and development best practices.
• Work with relational databases, SQL queries, and data integration processes to support application functionality.
• Troubleshoot application defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions to resolve technical issues.
• Analyze and optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and technical documentation.
• Support application deployments, environment configurations, release management, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, QA engineers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support system integrations and data exchange workflows, including EDI integrations, where applicable.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java, object-oriented programming (OOP), and fundamental Java concepts.
• Solid experience with Java/J2EE technologies, including Servlets, JSP, JDBC, and related frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with JBoss/WildFly application servers, including application deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
• Working knowledge of the Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with build and dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Strong debugging, application troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and enterprise application integrations.
• Familiarity with EDI standards such as ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.
• Knowledge of common EDI transaction sets.
• Exposure to EDI integration platforms, middleware, message transformation, and trading partner connectivity.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as JMS, Apache Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated application deployment.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
