We are looking for a Lead Java Developerto join our team.

In this role, you will guide the technical direction of backend initiatives and play a central part in delivering scalable, high-quality solutions. You will thrive in a collaborative environment alongside experienced engineers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to bring impactful ideas to life.

Responsibilities

  • Create, refine, and support code across backend components
  • Construct backend microservices and REST APIs that enable scalable business functionality
  • Prepare unit tests to safeguard the reliability and correctness of the code
  • Carry out code reviews to preserve quality standards and share expertise across the team
  • Apply engineering best practices, including code review, unit testing, and continuous integration
  • Engage actively in SCRUM ceremonies as a contributing member of the Agile team
  • Join estimation and planning sessions to support consistent delivery predictability
  • Coach other developers and work closely with peers to strengthen the team's overall capability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a comparable field
  • No less than 5 years of hands-on professional experience in software development
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management or team leadership, covering a team of 5 or more FTEs
  • Practical background in designing and building front-end applications and APIs
  • Solid Java programming ability for developing enterprise-grade applications
  • Applied experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Data JPA for backend development
  • Hands-on experience in designing and consuming REST APIs
  • Strong track record designing and developing microservices architectures
  • Working experience with Apache Kafka for distributed event streaming
  • Familiarity with issue tracking tools such as JIRA for defect management
  • English at B2 level or higher, with strong written and spoken communication skills

Nice to have

  • Previous experience within the Financial Services industry
  • Applied experience with GenAI-assisted development to raise productivity and code quality
  • Practical exposure to APIs and Integration patterns in distributed systems
  • Strong track record conducting structured code reviews to uphold engineering quality
  • Familiarity with GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted coding
  • Awareness of Solution Architecture principles and practices
