Lead Product Manager Banking Payments
You will define and execute the product vision for global banking payments, including payment rails, multi-currency accounts, and local IBANs. You will lead technical delivery across the product lifecycle, design money-movement controls and ledger infrastructure, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will use product data to optimize payment features and commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the end-to-end product vision for banking payments.
- Lead cross-functional agile teams through the product development lifecycle.
- Map transaction lifecycles and write technical specifications.
- Lead discovery and solution design for money-movement controls, clearing, settlement, ledgers, and reconciliation.
- Engage with banking and fintech ecosystem partners to identify payment opportunities.
- Ensure payment features comply with regulatory guidelines and mitigate fraud and transaction risks.
- Optimize payment revenue drivers and collaborate on quarterly forecasting.
- Define and track product KPIs and OKRs.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience focused on core banking systems, payment rails, clearing and settlement infrastructure, or electronic money institutions.
- Technical understanding of SEPA, Faster Payments, UPI, SWIFT, Open Banking, and PSD2.
- Knowledge of API design, transaction logging, race conditions, and high-throughput core systems.
- Understanding of funds flow, ledger management, double-entry bookkeeping, safeguarding, and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of FCA, PRA, EBA, AML, KYB, and transaction reporting requirements.
- Understanding of small-business financial needs, including cash-flow management, payment acceptance, foreign exchange, and account reconciliation.
- Experience mentoring junior product managers, managing banking providers or vendors, and aligning executive stakeholders.
