The Manager / Sr. Manager, Field Applications based in India will serve as the primary technical interface between indie and automotive customers including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and distributors across India, while coordinating activities across the broader APAC region. Working closely with the regional sales team, this role will drive design in wins, provide expert application support for indie’s automotive portfolio, and accelerate customer adoption of innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in applications engineering leadership and similar roles supporting reference designs and customer technical engagement. This individual is a proactive self starter who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment and can effectively prioritize multiple competing priorities while making a meaningful impact across the team and organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality technical support throughout the sales cycle including technical discovery, product presentations and demonstrations, and hands on design in support for automotive semiconductor solutions including radar and ADAS SoCs, vision processors, LiDAR solutions, power management, and in cabin ICs
  • Partner with customers to understand system requirements, recommend optimal solutions, develop reference designs, schematics, and PCB layouts, and resolve hardware, software, and application issues across pre sales and post sales phases
  • Collaborate with Sales to identify and close new opportunities, support channel partners, and contribute to account planning and design win forecasting
  • Develop and deliver training, application notes, and technical collateral while serving as the voice of the customer to internal R&D, marketing, and product teams
  • Represent indie at customer engagements, technical workshops, trade shows, and distributor events across India and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Support product launches, validation, competitive analysis, and go to market strategies tailored to the Indian automotive market
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform product strategy and identify new application opportunities
  • Track and report key performance metrics including win rates, design in success, and team productivity to support continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field, master’s preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Applications Engineering, or technical customer support within the semiconductor industry
  • Experience supporting automotive electronics such as ADAS, sensors, power management, or mixed signal SoCs strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Hands on experience with embedded software environments including SDKs, middleware, and operating systems, perception IP experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of analog and mixed signal design, PCB layout, hardware debugging, and embedded systems
  • Experience with automotive grade components, power electronics, sensor interfaces, or high speed data protocols
  • Familiarity with automotive standards such as AEC Q100 and ISO 26262 and trends including ADAS, electrification, and in cabin systems
  • Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers with the ability to troubleshoot and replicate customer issues
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across customers and internal stakeholders in a fast paced, matrixed environment

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally up to 30 to 40 percent
  • Self motivated, customer focused problem solver with strong business acumen
  • Fluency in English and Hindi required, additional regional languages a plus
