Responsibilities
- Perform onboard inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of marine boilers, incinerators, ballast water treatment systems, and other shipboard equipment.
- Identify mechanical and electrical faults, carry out corrective maintenance, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Generate and submit service-related documentation, including quotations, service reports, sales slips, and maintenance records in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with customers on technical enquiries, service appointments, and provide regular updates on maintenance and repair status.
- Document inspection findings, report completed work to the Chief Engineer, and ensure all service activities comply with company procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in the marine industry, shipyard operations, or onboard vessels as part of the ship crew.
- Sound understanding of mechanical and electrical systems with practical troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
- Capable of diagnosing faults and performing repairs and preventive maintenance on marine equipment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Flexible to travel overseas when required and work beyond regular hours, including weekends and public holidays, to support operational needs.
