Odoo Senior Functional Consultant (BA & QA/UAT)
Reports to: ERP Delivery / Project Manager Project
Role: Functional Owner Primary
Focus: Business Requirements, Functional Solution, QA/UAT & Customer Engagement

1. Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Odoo Functional Consultant to act as a Functional Owner,
bridging business requirements, ERP solution design, development, and quality assurance.
The role focuses on ensuring that Odoo solutions meet customer business requirements,
support end-to-end business workflows, and are functionally validated before delivery.
This position requires strong ERP business knowledge, customer engagement skills and hands-on involvement in functional testing and UAT.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Business Requirement & Customer Engagement (20%)
● Engage directly with customers to understand business requirements and operational challenges.
● Conduct requirement clarification and business process workshops.
● Analyze As-Is / To-Be business processes and identify functional gaps.
● Explain and demonstrate proposed Odoo solutions to customers.
● Manage requirement clarification and support customer acceptance of agreed solutions.

B. Functional Solution Design & Ownership (25%)
● Act as Functional Owner for assigned Odoo modules or business processes.
● Translate business requirements into functional specifications and workflows.
● Validate Odoo Standard functionality against business requirements.
● Collaborate with BA and Development teams on solution design and customization.
● Review functional solutions to ensure business alignment and process consistency.
● Identify functional risks, gaps, and dependencies.

C. Functional Testing & Quality Assurance (30%)

● Work closely with QA and Tester teams to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
● Design and validate end-to-end business workflow test cases.
● Perform hands-on functional testing for critical or complex scenarios.
● Validate business logic, configurations, and customized functionality.
● Review defects, clarify expected results, and verify defect fixes.
● Support regression testing and ensure functional test coverage. D. User Acceptance Testing & Customer Support (20%)
● Prepare and facilitate customer UAT sessions.
● Demonstrate business workflows and guide users through test scenarios.
● Support UAT issue clarification and resolution.
● Provide functional guidance and user training.
● Coordinate with stakeholders to obtain UAT acceptance and support go-live readiness. E. Delivery Coordination & Continuous Improvement (5%)
● Coordinate with Project Managers, BA, Developers, and QA teams.
● Monitor functional issues and escalate delivery risks.
● Improve functional testing processes and documentation.
● Contribute to reusable ERP test scenarios and best practices.

3. Required Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or related fields.
● At least 4 years of ERP Functional Consulting or Business Analysis experience.
● Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP implementation preferred.
● Strong understanding of at least two ERP domains, such as:
○ Sales & CRM
○ Purchase & Procurement
○ Inventory & Warehouse
○ Manufacturing & MRP
○ Accounting & Finance
● Experience in business requirement gathering, functional solution design, and customer workshops.
● Ability to create functional specifications, business workflows, test scenarios, and UAT documents.
● Experience in end-to-end functional testing and defect validation.
● Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
● Ability to communicate with customers independently and explain functional solutions effectively

4. Preferred Qualifications

● Experience implementing Odoo Enterprise (v16–v20).
● Experience with multi-company ERP environments.
● Knowledge of Thai Localization and Accounting processes.
● Experience with Jira or similar defect and project tracking tools.
● Familiarity with ERP integration, data migration, and regression testing.
● Odoo Functional Certification or relevant ERP implementation experience.

5. Role Boundaries This position is responsible for:
● Functional requirement clarification
● Business process and solution validation
● Functional test scenario design
● Critical functional testing
● UAT facilitation and customer engagement
● Functional quality and readiness recommendations

This position is not primarily responsible for:
● Full-time repetitive test execution
● Automated test framework development
● Software coding and technical architecture
● Sole ownership of project timelines or customer sign-off QA/Tester remains responsible for detailed test execution and defect tracking. The Functional Consultant owns functional interpretation, business scenario validation, and coordination of functional readiness.

6. Expected Outcomes The successful candidate will help ensure that:
● Odoo solutions align with actual customer business requirements.
● Business workflows are validated before UAT and go-live.
● QA and Tester teams have clear functional scenarios and expected results.
● Customers receive consistent functional explanations and guidance.
● Functional defects and requirement misunderstandings are identified earlier.
● ERP delivery quality improves without creating unnecessary dependency on senior BA resources.
