Payment Operations Specialist

The Payments Operations Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational management, monitoring, reporting, and optimization of payment operations across Asia.
The role acts as a central coordination point between Backoffice, Product, Finance, PSPs, and Technical teams to ensure stable payment performance, fast incident response, efficient provider operations, and continuous improvement of payment flows.
This position combines operational execution with analytical and strategic responsibilities, including reporting, performance monitoring, provider analysis, and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Payment Operations & Monitoring
Own daily payment operations across Asia, including payment projects, PSP integrations, incidents, and operational activities.
Proactively monitor payment flows, provider performance, transaction health, and operational KPIs.
Track deposit and withdrawal success rates, processing times, pending queues, callback issues, and transaction anomalies.
Guide and support Duty Officers with operational escalations when required.
Incident & Issue Resolution
Identify, investigate, and address payment incidents and operational issues in real time.
Coordinate with internal teams and PSPs to ensure timely issue resolution and service restoration.
Support incident communication, escalation management, root cause analysis, and follow-up actions.
Reporting & Analytics
Prepare recurring operational and performance reports for management and stakeholders.
Analyze payment trends, provider performance, approval rates, routing efficiency, and operational KPIs.
Cost Optimization & Operational Efficiency
Identify opportunities for payment cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
Monitor provider fees, settlement costs, FX conversion costs, and payment processing inefficiencies.
Project Coordination & Product Collaboration
Support prioritization, coordination, and operational execution of payment-related projects, integrations, and features.
Define, submit, and clarify operational requirements to Product and Development teams.
Review and approve payment-related specifications before development to ensure operational readiness and alignment.
Support rollout, testing, and operational validation of new payment methods, providers, and system enhancements.
Process Improvement & Documentation
Contribute to SOP creation, process documentation, operational playbooks, and escalation procedures.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across payment operations and workflows.
PSP & Cross-Department Coordination
Coordinate between Back Office, PSP Management, Product, Development, Finance, Compliance, and external providers.
Support PSP onboarding activities, operational readiness checks, and provider follow-ups.
Requirements
1–3 years experience in operations, fintech, or payments (preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability mentality.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and hands-on environment
Willingness and ability to travel within Asia (3–4 months per year)
Experience in payments, fintech, banking operations, PSPs, or transaction monitoring is considered a strong advantage.
