Lime Recruitment is currently working with a Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Principal Business Analyst. In this high-impact role, you will report to the ICT Program Manager and provide leadership, guidance, and expertise in business analysis and process optimisation to support a significant, nation-leading child safeguarding reform program.

The program is responsible for establishing a new government capability that brings together a range of child safeguarding functions and services. The ICT program will initially focus on standing up the organisation’s technology capability, before progressing to the delivery of a centralised safeguarding intelligence hub and a new case management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead stakeholder workshops and consultations to elicit, analyse, and document complex business requirements while collaborating with technical teams to design and evaluate IT solutions

  • Drive the identification, analysis, and optimisation of business processes using best-practice modelling techniques and BPMN to deliver efficiencies and enhance service delivery outcomes

  • Assess complex business and digital transformation issues associated with establishing new organisational capabilities, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions, including contributing to business cases, options analysis, and strategic recommendations.

  • Assess and mitigate IT-related business risks, supporting Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) while ensuring alignment with governance, risk, and quality standards.

About You:

  • Demonstrated high-level experience in eliciting, documenting, and analysing requirements using techniques such as workshops, interviews, prototyping, BPMN, and process flow diagrams.

  • High-level ability to assess complex business and digital transformation issues and contribute to options analysis and strategic recommendations.

  • Proven experience establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external government stakeholders through consultation and negotiation.

  • Strong working knowledge across Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches across the end-to-end software development lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and cultivate an ethical, positive, and collaborative team environment.

  • Qualifications (Desirable): Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in business analysis (ECBA, CCBA, CBAP) and working knowledge of BABOK® are highly regarded.
