The Assistant Director of Internships will support the Center for Career Development's newly formed Internships and Industry Partnerships team during a nine-month temporary assignment. This individual will help establish processes, implement a new internship management platform, support internship programs, coordinate employer and student communications, and assist with day-to-day program operations.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Director of Internships and Industry Partnerships to build and support the new Internships and Industry Partnerships team.
- Develop and standardize internship procedures, documentation, workflows, and operational processes.
- Assist with implementation and adoption of a new internship management platform.
- Train and support staff on new systems and procedures.
- Support the Yawkey Nonprofit Internship Program by:
- Responding to employer inquiries.
- Promoting nonprofit internship opportunities.
- Managing student applications.
- Tracking program budgets and funding allocations.
- Supporting Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 program cycles.
- Assist the Launchpad team with internship program planning and operations for Summer 2027.
- Collaborate with employer engagement and internship staff to improve program efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Provide administrative and operational support across multiple internship initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in career services, higher education, workforce development, internship programs, recruiting, talent acquisition, or program management.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Experience developing processes and documenting procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience learning and implementing new software platforms.
- Experience working within higher education.
- Experience supporting internship or experiential learning programs.
- Employer relations or partnership development experience.
- Budget tracking or grant administration experience.
- Experience with career management or internship management platforms (such as Handshake, Symplicity, or similar systems).
- Training or change management experience.
