Summary
A permanent, Sydney-based hybrid role at a leading Australian bank, running and improving a business-critical, enterprise-scale Cisco network. Day to day: advanced routing/switching troubleshooting (BGP/OSPF, Nexus), internet connectivity, firewall support, incident management and on-call rotation.
Salary: $160k - $165k p.a. + plus super

A leading Australian bank is looking to hire a Senior Network Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a hands-on role focused on the operation, support and continuous improvement of a large-scale Cisco network environment. You'll work across internet connectivity, routing, switching and critical network services.
The role would suit someone from an ISP background.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting and support activities across critical network infrastructure.
- Investigate and resolve complex routing, switching and connectivity issues.
- Participate in major incident management and problem management activities.
- Implement network changes and support strategic technology initiatives.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point within the networking team.
- Participate in an on-call support roster.
Key Requirements
- Strong WAN and internet routing skills - ISP experience preferred
- Strong experience supporting large-scale Cisco network environments.
- Advanced routing and switching knowledge, including BGP and OSPF.
- Experience working with Cisco Nexus platforms, ideally Nexus 9000.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- Previous experience supporting enterprise firewall technologies.
- CCNP or CCIE certification highly regarded.
