Senior Resident Engineer (SRE-M&E)
Job Summary
Manage and lead supervision teams to monitor, inspect, and coordinate mechanical and electrical building services works in major construction projects. Resolve design and technical issues, ensure compliance with safety and statutory requirements, and coordinate multi-disciplinary integration.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage supervision teams to monitor, supervise, and inspect mechanical and electrical works as directed by Client, QP, and project consultants to ensure quality and compliance
- Plan and organize roster shift duties based on contractors’ work schedules to maintain continuous site supervision and regulatory adherence
- Ensure the welfare and safety of personnel reporting to the supervision team by enforcing safety protocols and monitoring site conditions
- Collaborate with QP(D) and QP(S) to identify and resolve design and technical issues arising from Temporary and Permanent Works construction
- Administer contracts proficiently using Public Service Sector Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC) to ensure contractual compliance and effective project delivery
- Foster a strong commitment to safety and health on site by leading safety initiatives and promoting a safety-first culture
- Apply organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate project supervision activities and facilitate effective communication among stakeholders
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory codes, site supervision requirements, quality control procedures, construction administration, and progress reporting to ensure compliance and project accuracy
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary integration between trades and packages by leading resolution of integration and interfacing issues to ensure seamless project execution
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health Manual procedures and applicable airport circulars by monitoring site activities and enforcing regulations
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical and electrical building services in the building construction industry, including at least 8 years on projects similar in size and complexity, particularly major construction works in buildings or utilities services laying, testing, and commissioning
- Possess a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering degree recognized by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore
- Accredited as a Registered Resident Engineer with the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES)
- Licensed Electrical Worker and Licensed Plumber certifications
