Senior solution architect in a pre-sales/sales role selling Transwarp's enterprise big data, database and AI infrastructure software across Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Day to day: designing customer solutions, running demos and POCs, building pipeline, and preparing tenders and commercial proposals. Requires fluent Mandarin and English; based in Kuala Lumpur with regional travel.
Salary: RM 213,310 – RM 284,410 per year
About the role
As a Senior Solution Architect in a pre-sales and sales capacity, you will combine technical expertise with commercial skills to support business growth in Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asia region. You will work with enterprise big data and AI infrastructure technologies, serving customers across financial services, government, energy and manufacturing sectors.
Key responsibilities
Understand customers' business requirements and design solutions using database, big data and AI technologies.
Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations and proof-of-concept (POC) support, addressing customer questions throughout the sales process.
Identify potential customers, build a sales pipeline and drive opportunities from initial engagement through to contract signing.
Maintain existing customer relationships and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
Prepare technical proposals and tender documents, participate in commercial negotiations and support pricing strategies.
Gather market intelligence, competitor insights and customer feedback to support regional strategy and product development.
Collaborate closely with headquarters-based product, R&D and delivery teams to ensure successful project implementation.
About you
5+ years of experience in pre-sales or technology sales, with the ability to independently develop technical solutions and advance sales opportunities.
Strong understanding of enterprise technology and the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions.
Fluent Mandarin Chinese, including speaking, listening, reading and writing, required for communication with headquarters.
Fluent English required for engagement with local customers and business partners.
Based in Kuala Lumpur and willing to travel within Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure.
Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
Preferred: Database or data platform pre-sales/sales experience, particularly with companies such as OceanBase, Oracle, Databricks or Snowflake.
Preferred: Strong knowledge of database architecture, data warehousing and big data technologies, with hands-on experience in technical discussions and solution design.
