Role Overview
The Team lead – COE will be responsible for leading
and overseeing key finance disciplines within the Center of Excellence: P2P,
O2C, R2R, Treasury, and Payroll for the clients of Embark. The role involves
ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, book closure, compliance, driving
operational excellence, and managing a cross-functional finance team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership of COE Towers
- Lead and provide strategic direction for P2P, O2C, R2R, Treasury,
and Payroll verticals.
- Drive standardization, process improvements, and best practices
across all towers.
- Monitor service delivery.
2. General Ledger (GL) Review
- Oversee GL accuracy and integrity across business units.
- Ensure timely posting, validation, and reconciliation of GL
entries.
- Review accounting treatments to ensure alignment with applicable
standards.
3. Month-End / Year-End Book Closure
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing
processes.
- Ensure deadlines are met with high levels of accuracy and
completeness.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination to resolve issues
impacting closure.
4. Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review financial reports (MIS, management reports,
variance analysis, etc.).
- Support leadership with insights, analytics, and actionable
recommendations.
- Ensure reporting complies with accounting standards (Ind
AS/IFRS/GAAP as applicable).
5. Reconciliations & Schedules
- Oversee preparation and review of all account reconciliations and
statutory schedules.
- Identify discrepancies, drive timely resolution, and strengthen
internal controls.
6. Financial Statements & Audit Support
- Oversee preparation of standalone and consolidated financial
statements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during statutory,
tax, and internal audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit queries and implementation of
recommendations.
7. Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, tax, and internal
policy requirements.
- Strengthen internal controls and support risk management
initiatives.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulatory
guidelines.
8. Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary finance team.
- Establish KPIs, provide performance feedback, and support
capability-building.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous
improvement.
Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge in accounting, financial reporting, and
compliance.
- Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS
- Hands-on experience in managing large or multi-tower finance
operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Should be leading a team.
Education & Experience
- Mandatory: Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Preferred: Experience in a COE / Shared Services / Global Finance
Operations environment.
- Experience managing diverse finance functions and teams.
