Job Description
As a Team Lead – Level Designer at Ubisoft Montréal, you will support project management and production in supervising a small level design team. You will ensure the quality of work, adherence to deadlines, and provide mentorship to team members, while also participating in game development when necessary.
What you will do
- Plan, prioritize, assign, and track level design tasks
- Represent the level design team within the project
- Organize and lead regular team meetings
- Mentor the team through a strong understanding of gameplay, design documentation, and technical constraints
- Communicate work progress to project management and production, and propose adjustments as needed
- Anticipate team challenges and suggest constructive solutions
- Guide and support team members on level design practices and tools
- Participate in performance reviews in collaboration with management
- Coordinate the bug fixing related to the team's work
- Support the onboarding and recruitment of new talent
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary game development team
- Ease in guiding others through clear and collaborative communication
- Strong sense of organization and prioritization
- Ability to foster a healthy and productive team environment
- Knowledge of real-time 3D engines and level editors
- Familiarity with production tracking tools such as Jira or Perforce
- Understanding of video game production pipelines
