Technical Project Coordinator (Tech Art, Digital Assets & Animation)
Summary
Coordinates technical art, digital asset and animation production at Rezzil, a sports technology company building VR, mobile and console products. Day to day: translating requirements into Jira tasks, tracking asset pipelines, and linking product, production and artist teams.
About Rezzil
Rezzil creates innovative sports technology products across performance, gaming and broadcast. Our products serve professional teams, athletes, broadcasters and consumers, spanning VR, mobile, console and real-time 3D experiences.
Our exar.live platform provides the ingest and data-transport infrastructure for live sports data, powering our analysis tools, broadcast solutions, augmented reality graphics, and virtual production experiences. Alongside continuing to develop our existing products, we are expanding into new areas including computer vision and AI-led sports technology.
Rezzil is based in Manchester and London, with flexible, hybrid working options depending on the role.
About the Role
We're looking for an organised, proactive, and technically knowledgeable Technical Project Coordinator to bridge the gap between Product Managers, Producers, and our Technical Art, Digital Asset, and Animation teams.
You'll work closely with discipline leads and senior artists to translate high-level requirements into clear, actionable Jira tasks, coordinate resources, track progress and ensure assets move efficiently through production, review and delivery.
You'll also be a central point of communication, maintaining visibility across projects, identifying blockers and ensuring the right people have the information they need without creating unnecessary administration for artists and developers.
You don't need to be a Technical Artist or 3D Artist, but you should understand how digital assets are created and move through production pipelines, including modelling, texturing, rigging, animation and integration into Unity or Unreal Engine.
What You'll Be Doing
Project & Task Coordination
- Work with Product Managers, Producers and discipline leads to understand requirements and translate them into detailed Jira tasks and subtasks.
- Ensure tasks include clear briefs, technical specifications, references, acceptance criteria, dependencies and ownership.
- Coordinate task allocation with leads, considering individual skills, availability and project priorities.
- Track production schedules, asset progress and delivery estimates, identifying blockers and escalating risks early.
- Manage dependencies and handovers between Digital Assets, Technical Art, Animation and Development teams.
- Coordinate asset reviews, technical QA, and sign-off before returning work to Product or Production.
Jira & Workflow Management
- Maintain accurate Jira boards, backlogs, task statuses and production documentation.
- Support consistent Jira practices across teams, including ticket structures, naming conventions, estimates and progress tracking.
- Maintain visibility of workloads, resource allocation, milestones and upcoming deliverables.
- Help develop meaningful reporting and forecasting using Jira data.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve documentation and reduce administrative overhead.
Communication & Reporting
- Attend relevant stand-ups, production meetings and cross-department discussions, capturing actions, decisions and dependencies.
- Act as the communication link between Product, Production, Technical Art, Digital Assets, Animation and Development.
- Maintain a clear understanding of what each team is working on and how their deliverables affect other projects.
- Provide concise progress updates, resource information and delivery forecasts to stakeholders and the Development & Programme Director.
- Proactively connect the right people to resolve technical questions, scheduling conflicts and cross-team dependencies.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in technical production, project coordination or production coordination within games, animation, VFX, immersive technology or a similar environment.
- Hands-on Jira experience, including task creation, backlog management, workflow tracking and reporting.
- Experience working directly with Technical Artists, 3D Artists, Animators or multidisciplinary creative teams.
- A good understanding of 3D asset production pipelines, including modelling, UV mapping, texturing, rigging and animation.
- Familiarity with real-time production workflows and preparing and integrating assets into game engines.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects, tasks and dependencies across shared teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, including translating technical information into clear updates for non-technical stakeholders.
- Confidence asking technical questions, following up on progress and escalating issues appropriately.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine production workflows.
- Understanding of software such as Maya, Blender, Substance Painter or similar DCC tools.
- Experience coordinating character production, environments, animation, shaders or visual effects.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with Confluence, Jira dashboards, JQL or workflow automation.
- Understanding of asset optimisation, LODs, platform performance constraints and technical QA.
- Experience supporting production pipelines across multiple platforms, including VR, mobile or console.
- An interest in sports technology, gaming or immersive experiences.
Who We're Looking For
You'll enjoy working with creative and technical teams, understand how digital assets move through production, and take pride in keeping complex workflows organised.
You're comfortable discussing asset requirements with artists, identifying dependencies between disciplines and ensuring tasks are allocated to people with the appropriate skills.
You'll know how to balance multiple priorities, keep production information accurate and bring the right people together when problems arise.
We're looking for a strong coordinator with technical production knowledge, not someone expected to create assets or make technical decisions.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + share options.
- 25 days' holiday + bank holidays.
- Christmas closure.
- Flexible working and hybrid options.
