Web/WordPress Developer
About Our Client:
Our client helps recruitment agencies grow by delivering strategic, high-impact marketing that drives real results. Acting as a dedicated marketing partner, they support agencies with everything from content creation and branding to video, automation and lead generation. The team understands the recruitment space inside out, and creates campaigns that look great and convert. You'll be joining a collaborative, quality-driven team, where your technical input and attention to detail will have a real impact.
About the Role:
This is a new role for our client, created to build a proper in-house web development service. Until now, client websites have been hosted through a third party. You will bring that work in-house. Once that is in place, you will keep building and developing new sites for the client base. This role is slightly broader than just Web Development: WordPress and APIs come first, with the scope to shape how our client uses technology more widely.
The work is project-based, so external website work will take priority most of the time. In quieter periods, you will focus on improving our clients own tech stack, bringing ideas on what to automate and which tools work best.
Key Responsibilities:
You will build, customise and maintain WordPress websites for recruitment agency clients, and set up and manage the multi-site hosting environment behind them. Your first priority will be migrating existing client sites from a third-party host into this environment with minimal disruption, then keeping every site secure, fast and up to date.
A key part of the role is connecting client websites to their recruitment CRMs and ATSs, such as Bullhorn or Atlas. When a client posts a job in their CRM, it should appear on their website automatically, and applications made on the website should flow straight back into the CRM. You will build these integrations through APIs and job feeds, and maintain them as clients' systems change.
Alongside client work, you will review the agency's internal tools, including Asana, HubSpot, lemlist, MS Suite, Fireflies, ChatGPT and Claude, and find ways to connect them and cut manual work. That could mean building AI agents and automations with the ChatGPT or Claude APIs, recommending better tools or native integrations, or helping the team with lemlist campaign setup and reporting.
Must-Have Requirements:
3+ years' experience in web development, with WordPress as your main platform
Proven experience building and maintaining WordPress websites, shown through live sites you can walk us through
Solid understanding of web hosting: where and how to host, domains, DNS, SSL, security and backups
Experience with multi-site or multi-tenant WordPress hosting environments
Hands-on experience working with APIs and third-party integrations (e.g. job feeds, CRMs, forms)
A technical, problem-solving mindset, with experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude, including via their APIs
Confident and proactive: comfortable challenging ideas, asking questions and suggesting better ways of working
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
Experience at a marketing or digital agency
Experience of, or an understanding of, how a recruitment business is run
Experience setting up paid ad campaigns (e.g. Google, LinkedIn or Meta), including tracking and linking to the right website pages
Experience with lemlist or similar outreach tools
Familiarity with HubSpot, Asana, Microsoft 365/Teams or Fireflies, or similar tools
Experience with WPJobManager
